Dance Of Sun And Moon: 2024 Eclipses Over America

The eclipses of 2024 have an exceptionally strong imprint across American skies. This year holds two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses visible from the USA, each carrying a unique astrological meaning.

On April 8, 2024, the path of totality for a hybrid solar eclipse cuts from Mexico through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The eclipse makes landfall in Mexico as the largest cities across the central and eastern U.S. fall under its deep shadow. A solar eclipse represents winds of change, especially in areas along its path of totality. The central and northeastern U.S. may undergo dramatic shifts this spring. October 14 brings an annular “ring of fire” solar eclipse visible in its partial phases from western Africa all the way across North and South America. The path of annularity itself tracks from eastern Brazil over the Atlantic to the west coast of Africa. Solar eclipses augur destabilizing forces that ultimately nudge new beginnings, according to astrology. Shakeups ultimately help spur positive change.

On the lunar eclipse front, May 5 gifts North America with the spectacle of a subtle penumbral eclipse dimming the full “Flower Moon” across the continent, Hawaii, and Central America. Finally, on September 28, most of the U.S. witnessed a total lunar eclipse that turned the full “Harvest Moon” deep blood red. Emotive lunar eclipses prompt the release and clearing of old baggage - a shedding of skins before moving forward.

Notably, these eclipses align closely with the lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu transiting from late sidereal Pisces into early sidereal Aries. Rahu and Ketu represent two intersecting planes, spurring a crisis that ultimately forces needed change. Their transit spotlights new beginnings for early tropical signs Aries and Libra while spurring release for late Pisces and Virgo. Eclipse impacts vary based on one’s natal chart, but the U.S. can expect a major celestial shuffle this year!
